What is Futsal?
The game of Futsal was first played in Montevideo, Uruguay back in 1930. Futsal is a football/ soccer based game played on a hard court surface such as a basketball court with similar rules to the 'five-a-side' and 'indoor' game.
Played with 5 players on each team, one whom is the goalkeeper. Unlimited substitutions are permitted and the playing area is marked with line. boards and walls are not permitted in the game. The game is played with a smaller lower-bounce ball which help favor the development of close ball control and a much quicker speed of play, also forcing players to deal with tight situations.
League Structure
Our league provides teams to play a different style of the game we love through the short off season of winter in a climate controlled indoor environment.
Each team will receive at least 5 games over 5 specific weeks throughout the winter period of which will be X2 20 minutes halves of play.
Each team will need to have a minimum of 5 players and a maximum of 9 on their roster.
Each age bracket will be as follows:
- U7/U8 (2017 & 2016 Birth Years)
- U9/U10 (2015 & 2014 Birth Years)
- U11/U12 (2013 & 2012 Birth Years)
- U13/14U (2011 & 10 Birth Years)
All teams will need to be willing to compete against mixed genders as there are no specific Boys or Girls divisions (teams have the option to be all boys, al girls or coed teams).
League Team Requirements
Each team will be required to wear a specific team T- Shirt/ Jersey of their choice in color (there will be colored pinnies available for teams that colors are the same or two close). Each player will need indoor shoes ONLY, and be fully equipped with shin guards.
All players must be of appropriate age to the age group they are in, no exceptions. Our club promotes fair play and all players will be required to provide proof of age upon check in (copy of birth certificate or USSF club association player pass).
How to register your team
The primary contact (preferably the teams Head Coach) will register the team via the registration link above. Once registered, you will be able to invite each player via email to your team roster. Please note that you will need to make sure you have committed players before registering your team. The only exception for refunds is if Impact FC is unable to provide your team with the winter league play.
Once registered, our league coordinator will be in touch with any and all additional information and documentation.
